On April 7th, 2025, Ashadeep Human Development Centre celebrated International Health Day with the Special Children in Vijiba Janhit Special Child School, Nagra, Khambhat. The day focused on understanding mental health, interacting with children having different levels of IQ, and creating an inclusive environment where every child is valued.
The staff engaged with students to understand the impact on mental health and discussed why mental well-being is crucial and how it can be taken care of. The school visit escorted by Mr. Mukesh Rathod encouraged empathy and awareness, ensuring that the special children receive necessary support they deserve.
The staff played simple but exciting games and danced with the children making their day very special. A significant part of the day was the handprint canvas activity, where students left their handprints on a canvas, symbolizing their presence, identity, and cherished moments. This served as a heartfelt reminder that every child leaves an impression on the world, regardless of their abilities.
To further strengthen the bond, the staff served food to the students, ensuring they not only interacted but also shared a meal with them. The simple act of feeding and sharing meals created a warm and loving atmosphere, making the children feel special and cared for.
Key Highlights of the Event:
✅ Understanding the importance of mental health for children with special needs
✅ Discussing the harmful effects of sledging and bullying
✅ Indoor Games and Dancing: Being one with them
✅ Handprint Canvas Activity: A Symbol of Remembrance and Inclusion
✅ Sharing and serving food to create a warm and supportive environment
Ashadeep Human Development Centre remains committed to building an inclusive society where children of all abilities are respected, supported, and empowered. Through such initiatives, we hope to create a world where kindness and acceptance pave the way for a brighter future.
